Six more months for the APD


The Bexar County Appellate Public Defender, facing its own possible death sentence, has been reprieved – through the end of the year, anyway. As you'll recall, when the County Commissioners approved the current budget, they tagged enough money (at well under a half mil, "enough" might not be the right word) for 12 months, but only allocated half of it. An RFP for replacing the office with another, even more "efficient," system, was due shortly thereafter but has yet to materialize. We hear it's expected soon, however. Let the undercutting begin.
