2016: Obama’s America, the new documentary by conservative author Dinesh D’Souza, probably won’t threaten The Bourne Legacy at the box office, but it found a receptive audience last month in Houston and will be making its way to SA this weekend. Produced by Gerald Molen, the Academy Award-winning producer of Schindler’s List, 2016 is a non-stop celluloid rant which purports to predict what a second presidential term from Barack Obama would do to destroy the United States. In other words, it’s the feel-good movie of the summer.
The San Antonio Tea Party can barely contain its collective enthusiasm for the film, and SATP has set up a special group screening at the Santikos Palladium IMAX this Friday at 4:45 p.m. In an unusual move, the theater is allowing the Tea Party to handle ticket sales for that showing and turn it into an SATP fundraiser. Initial interest was so strong among SATP members that the organization’s leaders were preparing to ask Santikos for a larger capacity theater.
