Alamo Plaza went through a transformation this weekend, thanks to the folks at the Center City Development Office and Team Better Block of Dallas. It was all part of an effort to create a better future for the site. Few San Antonians haven’t heard the plea of a confused tourist or new resident: “No, really. Where’s the REAL Alamo?”
Who can blame them? When they walk into the plaza they’re confronted with a variety of tourist attractions that seem right out of the State Fair of Texas.
So the Alamo Plaza Better Block Project tried to help people imagine a different experience, complete with historical reenactments and sidewalk cafes.
