It’s time to redraw the lines for our city council districts. San Antonio grew by almost 183,000 people over the past decade, or the equivalent of one and a half council districts. As a result, the city had to review the district sizes to see if the population boom had created an imbalance.
More importantly, bringing the districts into balance means the shapes will change, affecting residents who have become attached to their council members and districts. It’s almost like breaking up a family.
