There’s a scene in the movie Reds in which John Reed goes to Russia to win Soviet endorsement of his American communist party over a rival U.S. faction. Bemused by the request, Soviet leaders decline to choose sides and instead urge Reed to make peace with the competing party. That’s what I think of every time I see the Bexar County Democrats shouting over each other at one of their Executive Committee meetings.
