Wherever they colonize, ex-New Yorkers have this irrepressible urge to find locations that resemble the Isle of Manhattan. I myself gravitate toward Woodlawn Lake for a daily run. All right, so it’s not Central Park, but it does have beautiful trees, jogging paths and a magnificent lake even Ted Kennedy would love.

Best of all, there are City Council campaign signs everywhere promoting the likes of Fred Rangel, Gloria Rodriguez, Cris Medina, and the fearless Elena Guajardo. It looks like I’m not the only one running in District 7.
