It was a sunny day, shortly after the opening of the Museum Reach of the River Walk, when I saw something I’d never seen before, indeed hardly even considered as a possibility. An attractive woman in her mid-20s, wearing a sundress and taking in the beauty of the little waterfalls surrounded by native plants along the river behind Pearl Brewery, slipped on a rock and fell into the cool water. But here’s the thing: she didn’t get out. Instead, she swam around freely in the shallow pools, giggling and splashing and generally acting like she was in a Hill Country creek.
