County Commissioner Tommy Adkisson says his 2003 contribution to creating the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority was "the worst vote I ever made." Since that long-ago December, Adkisson has become second only to activist Terri Hall in opposing toll roads, the RMA's primary charter. (Not it's only charter, though; the agency has proposed a non-toll solution to relieve the ever-contentious 281-to-1604 rush-hour parking lot.)
In the spirit of "if you can't beat 'em, be a thorn in their side," he's nominated East Side political operative and businessman Tommy Calvert Jr. to the RMA's board.
